Cutaneous Surgery

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer and the probability of its development increases according to the amount of sun exposure a person has experienced. Approximately 5 million people are treated for skin cancer each year in the United States. It is important that adults receive one full body skin exam each year to be screened for this condition. Detecting a lesion early can allow for non surgical treatments, a smaller scar, and in some cases, save a patient’s life.

At Sacred Heart Dermatology we provide comprehensive care for photodamaged skin including full body skin exams with dermoscopy, topical chemotherapy, cryosurgery, and surgical excisions for squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma and melanoma. In cases where additional physicians are needed in the treatment plan, we coordinate care to make sure our patients are well taken care of.
